Children & Youth: What's Coming Up!

Serving God At Ascension: Opportunities for Families & Children

ASCENDERS KIDS CLUB... A service club for grade-school kids (grades 3-5). Kids gather about once a month for games or a project and prayer during “kids worship” time. Service projects outside the church are organized periodically. So far The Ascenders have participated in the IJAMS River Rescue, made welcome bags for Family Promise families, and collected change for Pennies for Peace. If you’d like to be added to the Ascenders e-mail list, please call or send a message to Jacqueline@knoxvilleascension.org

Stephen Ministry: “Alone ” ~ Your children are grown and gone with families of their own. You hear from them at Christmas, or your birthday. You don’t have many friends left. It’s hard to get out. A Stephen Minister would like to be there for you. He or she will listen and care. To find out more about Stephen Ministry, please call Amy Morehous, 588-0589.

Office Hospitality/Flower Delivery ~ We have a great group of people who volunteer every week in our office or who deliver chancel flowers to parishioners. Summer vacation schedules have cut down on the amount of time these people can give. In addition, we have had some long-time volunteers give up their times. Needless to say, WE WANT YOUR HELP! If you can give one morning or one afternoon per month to answer our phones and greet people at the front desk, or an hour one Monday each month to deliver two baskets of flowers, please call Charis Hoskins, 588-0589, to join either team.

Get In On The Action!

Would you like to be part of a ministry that makes a real difference in others' lives when they need it most ~ and in your own? Priests will always be on the front lines of care, especially during times of crisis. But there are always many more needs for ongoing, one-to-one care than priests can effectively meet by themselves. Consider being a Stephen Minister!

Our Stephen Ministry Coordinator is The Rev. Amy Morehous. If you would like more information, please call Amy at 588-0589
