What's the deal with...

Ascension Youth Group (AYG)

Ascension’s teen group consists of middle and high schoolers who are interested in fellowship, fun, and faith! Our program for both groups rotates through recurring themes each week and dinner is provided by our Dinner Angels at no cost!  Events include: Game Night, Prayer and Bible Study Night, Off-Campus Night, and Life Skills and Service Night.  We also offer weekend outings and participate in service projects and Diocesan youth events.  All are welcome. For more information on AYG programs please contact the Director of Youth Ministries, GiGi Logan at gigi@knoxvilleascension.org.

Middle School AYG

Ascension’s Middle School program (grades 6-8) strives to create a program designed to find the balance between faith and fun: to allow space for formation and fellowship, while continuing to build a firm faith foundation. Middle School Youth meets in the Youth Room on Wednesday nights during the program year from 6:30-8:00 pm.

High School AYG

Ascension’s High School program (grades 9-12) encourages our young adults to seek God thru prayer, study, and fellowship with each other, and it encourages our teens to ask the big questions in a safe, non-judgmental environment. High School Youth meet in the Youth Room on Sunday evenings during the program year from 6:00-8:00 pm.

Sunday Mornings for Teens

Ascension’s Sunday morning education hour for all teens in grades 6-12 meets together in Room 104 on Sundays at 9:15-10:15 am. We focus on ensuring our teens have familiarity with the Bible as well as prayer practices and other religious knowledge.

We Don't Quit for the Summer

The Ascension High School Youth go on an annual domestic mission trip to various locations throughout the country. Youth age 16+ are also welcome to participate in the annual Bolivia Mission trip.

Also in the summer, our youth meet weekly for Milkshake Mondays every Monday from 7:00-8:00 pm (except during the youth mission trip) at the Cookout on Cedar Bluff Rd. (321 Cedar Bluff Rd.) for the sharing of friendship, milkshakes, and laughter.

Youth Confirmation

Ascension offers a yearly youth confirmation class for teens interested in making a personal and mature commitment to Christ and the Church. Ascension’s youth confirmation program uses a curriculum pulled from various Episcopal resources. To add an experiential level to our curriculum, Ascension’s youth confirmands are strongly encouraged to participate in Ascension Youth’s annual mission trip. For more information on youth confirmation classes, please contact GiGi Logan at gigi@knoxvilleascension.org.
