Purpose of Ministry: Provide shelter, meals and support at Church of the Ascension to homeless families.
Number of Hours Expected to Be Needed Each Month: 1-12 hours every 3 months.
Meeting Requirements: The families are housed at Ascension for 1 week every 3 months.
Where are Ministry Services Provided: Church
Explanation: There are many volunteer opportunities with Family Promise, including preparing desserts, spending the night at Ascension with our guests, playing with children who are also our guests, making up beds and grocery shopping. Some of these responsibilities require very little time and effort but the rewards are always great.
