The Sisterhood goes to Sea // Monday, June 18 // The Sisterhood will have their “Ladies Night Out” at a new location of a local favorite restaurant which has received rave reviews, Chesapeake’s on Parkside Drive. They specialize in seafood (flown in daily) and steak, but also offer chicken, burgers, and more. So, there is something for everyone! Please RSVP to Charlotte Wood, seebyrdfly@aol.com or 615-594-1781 by Friday, June 15.

Milkshake Mondays // Every Monday from 7:00-8:00 pm in the summer the youth (rising 6th grade-recent graduates) will be welcome to meet GiGi at the Cookout (321 Cedar Bluff Road) for fellowship, sharing of our summer plans, and the enjoying of milkshakes. No need to RSVP, just show up! Contact GiGi with further questions.

The Ascension Trekkers // We will venture to an area new to many of us on Saturday, June 16 – We’ll drive to the Abrams Creek Campground via the Foothills Pkwy and hike a loop:  Cane Creek to Cooper Road to Hatcher Mtn trail to Little Bottoms and back to the campground for a total of about 8 moderate miles with average elevations gain/loss of 200 ft, stream crossings, and some difficult spots.  We’ll leave the church at 8:30 am in the van for this all day outing and hikers are reminded that because of the recent heavy rains, there may be mud and overgrown areas.  Contact Emily Vreeland to RSVP (emilyvree@aol.com).

On Monday, June 18, the Trekkers will return to beautiful Cumberland Mountain State Park for the easy 4-mile Pioneer trail hike around the lake and then for a buffet lunch at the Lodge.  The trail is rolling and a typical mountain trail with roots and rocks but no steep or complicated areas although some may want to use hiking sticks.  We will leave the church at 9:00 am.  Contact Emily Vreeland to RSVP (emilyvree@aol.com).
