Today is Stephen Ministry Sunday!
Stephen Ministry is our congregation’s one-to-one care-giving ministry. God works through Stephen Ministers to plant a seed of hope and healing in people who are faced with challenging life circumstances. The ministry of Stephen Ministers has been a blessing to individuals, to the lay ministers themselves, and to our whole congregation. In order to continue and expand this ministry of care, we are beginning another Stephen Ministry training class this Fall. An information meeting will be held today following the 10:30 service in Room 209. Stephen Leaders will be present to answer questions and further explain this vital ministry. If you are unable to attend the information meeting, you may pick up an application from the communications table located in the office area. Applications must be turned into the church office by July 1st. You may also contact Barb Stephens at 859-391-4924 for more information. Take advantage of this opportunity to share the love that God has given you.

Parish-Wide Adult Sunday School
All Sunday School classes are open to everyone! It is not necessary to have read the books being studied as all groups present the material in such a manner that everyone can participate. No prior reading or preparation is required! All classes begin at 9:15 am.
The Forum // Old Transept-Parish Hall // We will continue our study of “the fascinating and bizarre Old Testament book of Ezekiel.”
The Seekers // Room 102 // A study of the book of Jonah, with Mark Keck. “There’s something fishy going on here!”
The Sojourners // New Transept-Parish Hall // What to do in May? We have only three sessions left this semester (noting the May 13th parish-wide meeting with our new interim, The Rev. Pat Wingo): bring your thoughts and let’s discuss how to use them!
Contemplative Prayer // Library // A relaxing and loving time of what Jesus referred to as “prayer in secret”. We begin with twenty minutes of silent prayer, letting God come into our hearts, followed by discussion and contemplation of writings from various sources, including Elias Marechal, Tom Keating, Richard Rohr, Thomas Merton and the Sunday Lectionary.
Wednesday Night – Food for Body and Soul
Parish Supper // 6:00 pm – Parish Hall // This Wednesday Night Parish Supper menu will feature chicken tetrazzini, roasted lemon broccoli, spring greens salad with strawberries, pecans, and feta, grains and seeds bread, and dessert. What is the Gifts and Talents Workshop and What Can it Do for Me? // Parish Hall-Old Transept // “A spiritual gift is given to each of us as a means of helping the entire church.” [1 Corinthians 12:7]. “God has given each of us the ability to do certain things well…take the responsibility seriously.” [Romans 12:6]. It seems clear that God is asking each of us, as he asked his 12 apostles, to go out into the world and spread the good news of Christ our Lord. But how do we do that? The first step is to identify the unique abilities God has given us! The Gifts and Talents Workshop is a journey of discovery through which you can learn about your God-given gifts and the ways in which you can effectively use your passions and interests to further God’s kingdom. In preparation for one portion of the class, please consider taking the free, online Jung Typology Test at http://www.humanmetrics.com. (Ignore CONTINUE and any ads at the top, just begin selecting your answers after the Instructions.) The test is based on Carl Jung’s and Isabel Briggs Myer’s personality type theory. Bring the results of your test to the class on Wednesday May 9th, 6:45PM.
