“I was so delighted when I learned that I was coming to this beautiful worship space on the Sunday that we get to consider Solomon’s dedication of the temple and the tiny sparrow finding a home there together because all of this, the architecture, the visual arts, the craftsmanship that go into the magnificent instruments, the training of priests and pastors, lay leaders and musicians, and the speaking, singing, preaching, and the prayers and silence, all of this is about bringing us to a bit of bread and a sip of wine and the promise of God’s continuing love and provision.” From The Rev. John Tirro’s sermon on August 23rd, 2015 at The Episcopal Church of the Ascension.
