Women’s Advent Quiet Day

“My soul magnifies the Lord…” – Feasting for the Soul
Come quiet your heart, mind, and soul as we prepare for the coming of Emmanuel, God- with-us.

Facilitated by The Reverend Caroline Vogel and The Reverend Elizabeth Farr

Saturday, December 4, 9:30am – 12:30pm
Advent is intended to be a time of reflection and quiet as we await the coming of Jesus. It is also the beginning of a new Christian calendar year. This new year we’ll read the Gospel of Luke which includes the Magnificat (Mary’s song of praise to God), The Song of Zechariah, and The Visitation (Mary and her cousin Elizabeth’s encounter). As you move through the hustle and bustle from Halloween through Thanksgiving and slide into December, we have planned several things to assist your spiritual journey through this wild season. We hope these opportunities slow your pace and remind us that we’re truly waiting on something amazing. The Quiet Day will be held Saturday, December 4th from 9:30-12:30 with options to participate either online (Zoom) or in-person (Ascension’s Parish Hall). This is an opportunity for our senses to engage this holy season of Advent with time to reflect on passages from The Gospel of Luke and share with one another our thoughts and experiences. Childcare available for children up to 5th grade. Lunch will be available from Goodness to Go at the conclusion of the Quiet Day for those attending in-person for a cost of $15.

Please also join us on Zoom on Wednesday, December 8, and Wednesday, December 15, from 12:30 – 1:00pm for a midweek Advent Quiet Moment following our time together at the Quiet Day.
