Refugee Support
Ascension Refugee Support - Ukraine

Ukrainian refugees, primarily women and children of all ages, and a few men who had lived in a facility in the Ukraine for physically disabled persons, now reside in a dormitory located at a Catholic Church in Krakow. This site, dedicated to Pope John Paul II, is a pilgrimage site that has been repurposed for those dislocated by the war. Our own parishioner, Culver Schmid, has visited the facility and knows it to be a place worth supporting. Culver applied for a $5,000 grant from our Endowment to offer support, which the Vestry has approved to be a matching gift to support this good work in Krakow, Poland. This is a meaningful way for us as a church to support the people of the Ukraine during their time of greatest need. We invite you to contribute to this effort, so that we can raise at least $5,000 additional funds, so to contribute to the refugee crisis in the Ukraine.
