Fellowship & Study Groups

"Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing."

Fellowship and study groups are a vital part of life in our parish, offering places where faith is shared not only in worship but in fun and relationships. We encourage you to give some of these gatherings a try to find your spot, and discover a welcoming spiritual family—spaces where people connect, support one another, and build meaningful friendships rooted in a common love of God. As we share conversation, prayer, learning, and service, we encourage one another along the journey of faith, deepening our understanding of Scripture and growing together in Christ.

Brotherhood of St. Andrew
The Brotherhood of St. Andrew is an international Episcopal men’s organization founded in Chicago over 100 years ago. Ascension’s chapter was formed in 2000 and has grown to approximately 35 members. It emphasizes prayer, study and service.

The Brotherhood meets weekly with prayer, discussion of the study topic of the week or a guest speaker and a light breakfast. Service projects include various areas of outreach, individual assistance to parishioners, and helping with set up for some of the Ascension parish events. There are social get-togethers approximately every two months. The annual weekend retreat at the Lake Logan Episcopal Center in North Carolina allows the brothers quality time with each other in directed discussion and fellowship. All men are welcome. The Brotherhood is a self-supporting ministry, mainly through activities of the “Smokin’ Brothers,” our barbeque fundraising efforts.
