Giving at Ascension

Understanding Giving

The offering of all our gifts is important to support our many ministries and programs. At Ascension, we are fortunate to have many volunteers to help serve both our parish and our larger community.
Annual Giving
In addition to donations of time and talent, though, your annual pledge is vital. Ascension does not generate its own revenue, so we rely on offerings and pledges like yours as our primary source of income. Pledged giving allows us to plan a sustainable annual operating budget that funds our staff, ministries, parish life, buildings, and grounds. To make or amend your annual pledge, please contact Parish Administrator Sara Sheppard.
Planned Giving
Planned Giving encompasses a variety of ways, beyond pledging, that gifts can be made to the church. It usually involves financial or estate planning, and is available to all income levels. Planned Giving helps a donor specify how a gift will be made and what form it will take.

In general, planned gifts are made through:
  • A Bequest in a will
  • A Life Income Gift such as a pooled income fund, a charitable gift annuity or a charitable remainder trust.
  • Gifts of Special Assets (real estate, closely held stock, life insurance and retirement accounts)
After consulting your financial planner and/or our clergy, please contact Parish Administrator Sara Sheppard to arrange your planned giving.
Ascension Endowment Fund
The Ascension Endowment Fund allows our parish to fulfill its mission by supporting ministries beyond what is possible through the annual operating budget. See more about the Endowment Fund and contributing to it here.
