Stile Antico

You are invited to the  Knoxville appearance of STILE ANTICO, They will present Polyphonic Postcards: Music from Europe’s Greatest Renaissance Cities.
The flourishing cities of Renaissance Europe played host to an explosion of cultural activity. Papal Rome dripped luxury, the trading hubs of the Low Countries accrued unimaginable wealth, and port cities such as Lisbon and Seville were deluged with treasure from newly discovered corners of the
globe. This programme provides a fascinating snapshot of music, politics, and culture at the apogee of the European Renaissance.

"I will declare Your name to My brethren; in the midst of the assembly I will sing praise to You."

Since 1999, the Episcopal Church of the Ascension has been bringing wonderful music to our community through FOMA, Friends of Music and the Arts. We are pleased to continue the tradition again this year and hope to see you at some or all of the wonderful offerings coming soon.

It is a blessing to be able to present these offerings to our community. Bring a friend or friends and join us for a time of relaxation and enjoyment in the peaceful surroundings of the church. Thank you to all of you who contribute to FOMA and help make this possible. I hope to see you soon.
The Rev. Christopher Hogin
Priest-in-Charge
