On the first Friday of each month, we offer our families a great opportunity. From 5:00-8:00pm, kids from birth through 12 years old will have a fun-filled evening with nursery and other staff. Pizza is provided. While your kids are under the care of our staff, you can take some time to go to a number of great places within a quick drive, such as the West Town Mall area, Bearden area, or downtown.

This is a pastoral care ministry that provides food to those in need of a good meal. Our parishioners prepare and package meals that are stored at the church, ready to be shared with parishioners and those outside our church.

Formed almost a decade ago, the mission of the LAMBS ministry is to be good stewards of our animal companions by offering assistance for their care to their humans in need.

LAMBS offers a pet prayer list for church members and their immediate family; pastoral support for pet owners by our clergy; pet foods and funding drives for community-based pantries, animal programs and services; as well as special events, including Ascension’s annual “Blessing of the Animals,” a service that opens the doors for our pets to attend church and be blessed.LAMBS also provides transport assistance to parishioners unable to transport their pet(s) to veterinary services, and temporary assistance to parishioners uncapacitated and unable to care for their pets.

Compassionate care for those on the prayer list. Calls, visits, notes, and meals are distributed to help and encourage parishioners in need of a little help.

Prayerfully knit and crocheted shawls are available for members of the parish and others who are in need of prayer, including those with illness, who are mourning, and for births.

Stephen Ministry provides confidential, one-on-one Christian care by listening, supporting, encouraging, and praying for persons in need of care. Stephen ministers volunteer to go through many months of training and receive on-going supervision.

During the Sunday morning church service, this ministry provides a special place and services for children, where they hear a Bible lesson, pray together, and respond to the day’s lesson through various activities and discussions.

Held annually in June, Ascension’s VBS is a fun, hands-on learning experience for young children to engage in spiritual-centered adventure.

This is a caregiving ministry for our youngest members and visitors, available during church services and other events throughout the year.

Our Funeral Guild members are ministers of hospitality to families who are here at Ascension for the memorial service or burial of someone they love. They make sure that grieving families are as comfortable as possible while they are here.
