Christian formation and activities are important for all ages. The children of Ascension are highly valued, and we strive to make them a part of the faith journey in our church. Your children are extensions of you and your values, and our hope is to grow and learn together in God’s love. Please join us for Sunday offerings as well as special events for all children. We also have a youth group for Tweens in grades 3-5. Sunday School

Sunday School classes are offered for children Pre-K through 5th grade. We have a class for Pre-K, 1st-2nd Grade, and 3rd-5th Grade. To drop off your kids, head to the Children’s Education Wing on the North side of the building.

Children's Church

Bring your kids to the beginning of the service and one of the junior acolytes will guide the children from the worship service to the Children’s Church room. If you or your child would prefer, please feel free to walk your child from worship to Children’s Church. We value your child’s comfort and safety.

Godly Play

What is Godly Play? Children have an innate sense of the presence of God. The Godly Play approach helps them to explore their faith through story, to gain religious language and to enhance their spiritual experience though wonder and play. The Godly Play program is open to children in Pre-Kindergarten through 2nd grade. Two classes are offered: Godly Play One (Pre-K, Room 202) and Godly Play Two (K-2, Room 203) . Come join us!

Two Sundays a Month

Tweens

We offer a fun curriculum for our Tweens in grades 3-5 called “Deep Blue Kids.” They will meet some new characters in the fun videos and have some lively discussions and projects related to the Bible Story that day. Class takes place in Room 105 on the bottom floor of the Christian Education Wing. Tween Youth Group meets twice a month for fun, formation, and fellowship. Activities range from movies to Bible lessons, service projects to special outings.

First Friday Every Month

5:00-8:00 pm

Date Nights

On the first Friday of every month, the nursery is open for parents to drop off their children and enjoy an evening out or just some quiet time by themselves. Fellowship with other couples in the church is usually offered and is completely optional. Newborns to kids 12 years old will enjoy pizza, movies, playing outside, games and fun with their friends. The childcare cost is covered by the church, but we do ask that you bring a few dollars to chip in for the cost of pizza and drinks for the kids.
